Description
The Chicco Ultrarápido Flex Night digital clinical thermometer is a device designed to facilitate the measurement of a baby's temperature, especially at night, without requiring the activation of light.
This product is versatile, as it allows for measurements:
It features a backlit display that ensures easy reading in low light conditions. Additionally, it includes:
- Automatic shut-off system that contributes to the device's energy efficiency
- Low battery indicator
- Acoustic signal at the end of the measurement, as well as in case of fever
The thermometer also has the ability to store the last measurement taken, which is useful for tracking temperature. It has the CE mark and is classified as Class IIa, non-sterile.
It is recommended to consult a professional for proper and effective use.
Instructions for use
1. Turn on the thermometer by pressing the ON/OFF button.
2. The screen will display, in order, all the data: "188.8°E M" » "Last measurement taken" (e.g. 36.0°C M/96.8°F M) » "37.0°C/98.6°F" (self-test temperature) » "Lo°C/Lo°F" with °C flashing, indicating that measurement is starting;
3. Place the thermometer:
a. Oral Use (-10 sec.): place the tip of the probe at the bottom of the mouth, under the tongue, and close your mouth.
b. Rectal Use (-10 sec.): insert a few millimeters of the tip of the probe into the rectum. If you feel resistance during this operation, stop immediately.
To measure the temperature of a newborn rectally: lay them on their side on a solid surface, bring their legs towards their chest, and hold them so they cannot turn during the measurement. Remember that internal temperature is always slightly higher than external temperature (around 0.5°C). Do not apply any ointment, petroleum jelly, or similar substances to the tip.
4. An acoustic signal alerts you when the measurement is complete. The screen lights up for a few seconds to facilitate reading the temperature. FEVER ALARM: If the temperature is > 37.8°C (> 100.0°F), an alarm sound is emitted.
5. If the message Lo°C/Lo°F appears, it means the thermometer has measured a temperature below the minimum value of the measurement range. If the message Hi°C/Hi°F appears, it means the thermometer has measured a temperature above the maximum value of the measurement range. In these cases, it is suggested to check that the thermometer is placed correctly and repeat the measurement. If the message "ERR" appears, it means the thermometer has operational issues; contact customer support.
6. After the measurement, turn off the thermometer by pressing the button (if you forget to turn it off, it will shut down after about 10 minutes). If the message "ERR" appears, it means the thermometer has operational issues; contact customer support.
Pharmaceutical Advice
Exposing thermometers to extreme temperatures or excessive humidity is not advisable, as this may affect measurement accuracy. Leaving the thermometer at room temperature for at least half an hour before use is recommended.
If the thermometer comes into contact with any part of the body (ear, mouth, armpit...), it should be cleaned after use.
Store in a cool, dry place out of children’s reach.
