The components of the compression system in its design and manufacture provide 40 mmHg compression at the ankle (average compression for an average sized ankle) with a decreasing pressure gradient from distal to proximal. This pressure gradient reduces venous stasis, increases blood velocity in the venous system, promotes venous return, aids muscle pump function and helps prevent edema.
