This is a remarkable herb as an anti-inflammatory, and even more so if used internally by consuming it in infusion of the plant. In cases of urinary infections it is recommended because it can reduce inflammation of the front wall of the bladder, and is also useful for inflammation of the prostate, as a complement to the action with nettle root, in the treatment of prostate hypertrophy. Its flavonoids and tannins have an anti-inflammatory action that acts on the walls of the bladder relieving the pain associated with cystitis, complementing the action with another effective herb, bearberry. Both plants are diuretic and increase the volume of urine, ideal in cases of cystitis or other urinary tract infections.
