Castor oil comes from the seeds of the castor plant (Ricinus communis) and is widely used as an ingredient in cosmetics. It has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties provided by its very rich fatty acid and vitamin E content. It offers several possibilities for use, especially for skin and hair care. Applied as a pure oil and topically, it deeply nourishes the skin, as well as brittle nails and cuticles. It is purely plant-based (and has nothing to do with a substance used in the past, which was extracted from the secretions of the beaver). Avoid applying pure oil to sensitive areas such as eyes and mucous membranes.
