Description

Carolina B brand Safflower Oil, an oil rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids. The fluid and non-greasy virgin safflower oil is ideal for nourishing and covering dry hair and scalp. It is also recognized for its ability to retain water that penetrates the hair fiber for a moisturising and nourishing effect, thus protecting the hair from dehydration. It is ideal for dry, coloured or chemically treated hair.

Instructions for use

Use as a scalp massage oil to allow as many nutrients as possible to reach the follicles to create an environment conducive to growth. It is also ideal for sealing in moisture to your hair or as a pre-shampoo treatment.

Pharmaceutical Advice

Safflower oil (Carthamus tinctorius) is extracted from safflower seeds.

It is a vegetable oil high in linoleic, oleic and linolenic fatty acids. Safflower flower extract is high in flavonoids. As an ingredient in dietary supplements, the oil promotes bowel movement, while other components in the flower can be incorporated to support digestion.

In cosmetics, it is used for its high antioxidant flavonoid content, which counteracts oxidative damage. It is particularly suitable for oily skin and skin with spots, or sensitive skin and skin with dermatitis. This oil is nourishing and regenerating and can be used topically to create a soothing, protective film on the skin. It contains vitamin E which provides antioxidant and toning properties.
