Description

Micellar water or micellar solution is a dermo-pharmaceutical product for facial care and cleansing.1 It was very popular among French women, who started using it in 1913, before tap water became available to the majority of the population. Its main feature is that it manages to remove makeup and dirt from the skin in a single step, without the need for scrubbing. It consists of a dispersion of micelles in a solvent, usually water. The absence of irritating ingredients such as dyes, perfumes, parabens, soaps or alcohol, makes micellar water a product that especially protects sensitive, atopic or reactive skin. Tested under dermatological and ophthalmological control. Non-comedogenic. Made in France.

Instructions for use

Apply with a cotton pad all over the face. Do not use it on children under 6 years of age. Keep out of the reach of children, store away from sources of light and heat and keep in a cool, dry place. Thanks to its small size, it can be stored in a handbag or toiletry bag and carried everywhere.

Pharmaceutical Advice

Glycerin, also known as glycerol, is a viscous, colourless, odourless liquid that is an intermediate product of alcoholic fermentation and is a member of triglycerides. It is highly valued for its moisturising and emollient properties and is therefore widely used in cosmetics.

One of the best-known products with glycerine as a base component is soap. These soaps have a low pH and work as emollient agents on the skin, helping it to maintain and recover its natural moisture level. This is why they are perfect for sensitive or dry skin hygiene.

Glycerin is also present in moisturising creams with an anti-ageing effect, thanks to its ability to soften the skin and increase its elasticity. It has great soothing action, so it effectively reduces irritations, acne marks or small burns, helping accelerate healing. It is also present in shaving lotions, as it reduces friction, as well as in hair care cosmetics such as serums and masks.
