Description

FRENADOL Complex is an association of paracetamol that reduces fever and relieves pain,

dextromethorphan which is an antitussive, chlorphenamine which helps reduce runny nose and sneezing, and caffeine which counteracts the decay that often accompanies the common cold

and caffeine which counteracts the drowsiness that often accompanies the common cold. It also contains ascorbic acid

ascorbic acid or vitamin C.

This medicine is indicated for the symptomatic relief of colds and flus with mild to moderate pain, such as

headache, fever, non-productive cough (irritative cough, nervous cough), nasal discharge and sneezing for adults and adolescents

and sneezing for adults and adolescents from 14 years of age.

You should consult your doctor if symptoms worsen or persist after 5 days of treatment in adults or 3 days in adolescents, or if the symptoms persist after 5 days of treatment in adults or 3 days in adolescents

adults or 3 days in adolescents or if fever persists for more than 3 days.

Warnings and precautions:

You should not take more than the recommended dose of how to take FRENADOL® Complex. Taking more than the recommended dose (overdose) can result in liver damage. In case of overdose, seek medical help immediately. Quick medical attention is critical for adults as well as for children, even if you do not perceive any signs or symptoms. Chronic alcoholics should ask their doctor if they can take paracetamol, other analgesics, or medicines that reduce fever. Additionally, they should be cautious not to take more than 3 sachets a day (2 g of paracetamol). While taking this medication, you cannot take others that contain paracetamol because it could lead to a paracetamol overdose that could damage the liver. Do not use more than one medication that contains paracetamol without consulting your doctor. You should consult your doctor or pharmacist before starting to take FRENADOL® Complex: Patients with kidney, lung, stomach diseases, and patients with anemia. Patients with diabetes, as caffeine and ascorbic acid may raise blood sugar levels. Patients who have had kidney stones or gout or excess iron in the blood, as ascorbic acid may worsen these situations. Ascorbic acid should not be administered at doses higher than 1 gram (1000 mg) in patients with kidney stones. Patients with liver diseases (with or without liver failure) or viral hepatitis, because it increases the risk of hepatotoxicity. Asthmatic patients sensitive to acetylsalicylic acid. Patients sensitive (allergic) to an antihistamine, as they may be sensitive to others (such as chlorpheniramine). Patients sensitive to theophylline or aminophylline. Patients with hypertension (high blood pressure), glaucoma (high eye pressure), hyperthyroidism, bladder neck obstruction, symptomatic prostatic hypertrophy, urinary retention. Elderly patients who may be more sensitive to the side effects of this medication. Patients with atopic dermatitis. Patients who are slow metabolizers of CYP2D6 or who use CYP2D6 inhibitors. Patients with a persistent respiratory condition such as emphysema, chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, or who suffer from cough accompanied by excessive secretions, glaucoma, prostatic hyperplasia with residual urine formation, are advised to consult a doctor before using this product. This medication may cause dependence. Therefore, treatment should be of short duration. This medicine may increase the sedative effects of central nervous system depressants, including alcohol, sedatives, and tranquilizers. Therefore, it is recommended to avoid drinking alcohol or taking CNS depressants (barbiturates, tranquilizers, MAOIs) while taking this medicine. This medication may cause drowsiness. Avoid consuming alcoholic beverages and certain medications while being treated with this medication, as they may enhance this effect. Consult the sections “Taking FRENADOL® Complex with other medications” and “Taking FRENADOL® Complex with food, beverages, and alcohol.” Sedated, weakened, or bedridden patients should not take this medication. Limit the use of caffeine-containing products during treatment, whether they are medicines, foods, or beverages. Very rarely, there have been cases of severe skin reactions known as acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP), Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS), and toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN), associated with the use of paracetamol. At the first sign of a rash or hypersensitivity, discontinue treatment and consult your doctor. There have been reported cases of abuse with medications containing dextromethorphan in adolescents, so this possibility should be taken into account, as it may cause serious adverse effects (see the section “If you take more FRENADOL® Complex than you should”).
