Description
Traditional product based on boldo, plant that could improve the difficult digestions: cholagogue and hepatic protector. The leaves are 4-6 cm long and 3-4 cm wide, with an oval or elliptical shape. They are somewhat leathery, with a thick, rigid and brittle blade. They are greyish green in colour. The upper side is rough, with numerous white protuberances, topped by a conical trichome, short and easily broken. The underside is smooth, with prominent veins. Under the upper epidermis of the blade there is a hypodermis formed by one or two layers of cells. Below this there is a palisade parenchyma, with one or two layers. In the mesophyll, which is a lagoonal parenchyma, a large number of cells with essential oil can be found. It has an scenttic, bitter smell and a taste reminiscent of lemon or camphor.
