Yellow undertones are generated by the mutable predisposition of the amino acids that make up the hair fibre. In white or grey hair, melanin is practically non-existent, so the hair is more exposed to external agents, such as the use of heat or the climate. These agents alter the amino acids that make up the hair fibre. When the amino acids are modified, they release yellow molecules that colour the hair and generate these yellow highlights. When this happens, you might need to boost the hair's protective barrier by using, for example, thermoactive treatments or leave-in strengthening serums.
