Micralax Citrate/Lauryl sulfoacetate acts as an osmotic type laxative, due to the combined action of sodium citrate, which acts by retaining liquid in the intestine, increasing the volume of water in the stool, and sodium lauryl sulfoacetate, a wetting agent.
It is indicated for the local symptomatic relief of occasional constipation in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.
You should consult a doctor if it worsens or if it does not improve after 6 days of treatment.
To prevent constipation, it is important to maintain a good water intake and eat a balanced diet, rich in vegetables and fruit, as well as whole grains to promote bowel regularity. These foods provide both soluble and insoluble fibre, both of which are necessary for the digestive system.
