Hair is made of proteins, lipids, trace elements, amino acids, salts and pigments. But the most abundant component in this structure is water, which makes up 70% of the hair fibre. This very basic component is the key to tackling one of the most common hair issues: frizz. What is it? It is an indication that the hair is dehydrated. The hair fibre, lacking enough water, will seek moisture from the humidity in the environment, resulting in split ends, coarse and frizzy hair.
How can we solve this? By establishing a proper washing routine with a shampoo and hair mask rich in moisturising and restructuring agents such as argan oil, shea butter or keratin. It is also important to use a heat protectant before using irons or hair dryers, to protect the hair fibre from the dehydration caused by high temperatures, as well as applying serum regularly to the mid-lengths and ends to seal the cuticle.
