Description

The free-flow pacifier from Avent is designed for use specifically on babies from 6 to 18 months of age. It stands out for its anatomical, flexible and symmetrical silicone teat that respects the natural development of the baby's palate, teeth and gums.

This pacifier has 6 ventilation holes to reduce irritation to your child's skin as it has more ventilation and has the following features:

  • -Anatomical teat: Ventilated, flat and symmetrical, it ensures the natural development of the palate, teeth and gums, even when the soother is placed upside down in your baby's mouth.

  • -Soft silicone nipple: It has no taste or smell and is more likely to be accepted by your baby. The silicone is soft, transparent, easy to clean and does not become sticky. The nipple is strong, durable and will not deform or fade over time.

  • -Security ring: for easy removal at any time.

*No BPA. Dishwasher safe.

*The color or design may vary depending on the stock available from the pharmacy serving the order.

Instructions for use

• Before using the soother for the first time, it is advisable to sterilise it with boiling water for 2 minutes, squeeze the nipple to remove the water and let it air dry.
• Repeat sterilisation if the soother gets dirty or falls to the floor and always once a day to eliminate any bacteria that may have accumulated.
• Place in the baby's mouth to soothe him/her, to help him/her fall asleep. If you are not breastfeeding the soother reduces the risk of sudden death syndrome, as it decreases if the baby suckles regularly.

Pharmaceutical Advice

When choosing a soother, remember that it will always depend on your baby's acceptance. One of the things to look out for when choosing a soother could be material: latex (rubber) or silicone.

Latex is an 100% natural product, amber in colour and has a soft and elastic texture that most resembles the feeling of the mother's breast. It is a hygroscopic material, meaning it absorbs water and retains odour. It is a natural material therefore it wears down faster than silicone. It is recommended for infants who already have teeth, from 6 to 12 months.

Medical silicone is a transparent white chemical product. It is a durable material and does not absorb odours or flavours. Its size does not change with use, although it may adopt the colour of the food it comes into contact with. It is less resistant to biting and pulling by the baby, so it is usually recommended for new-borns, from 0 to 6 months.

It is advisable to replace the soother with a new one every one or two months and/or discard as soon as it shows signs of deterioration such as: changes in colour, alterations in shape and/or material deterioration.

It is important to note that sterilising the soother every time the baby uses it is not necessary unless it falls to the floor or gets dirty. In cases when sterilising is not available, you can simply wash it under running water and avoid cleaning it with your own saliva as it may contain antibacterial substances.
