100% organically produced tea tree essential oil, with a wide range of applications, is used as a disinfectant for small wounds, minor burns, cold sores, minor inflammations in the mouth area and dandruff. The tea tree is about 7 m high and belongs, like the eucalyptus, to the family of murtaceae. The yellowish tea tree oil is obtained by steam distillation of the leaves. From a thousand kilos of leaves, about 10 litres of this fresh and aromatic essential oil are obtained. The tea tree has its origin in the subtropical coastal region of Australia and for thousands of years, the indigenous people have known its healing properties.
