The splint immobilizes the first metacarpal in a neutral position preventing it from locking. It is designed to reduce pain and inflammation by not allowing mobility in the wrist and thumb. It is made of breathable fabric. It is waterproof so that the patient can shower with it. They are much lighter than the plaster casts that were used before. It facilitates daily hygiene since, apart from the fact that it is made of a specific antimicrobial material that prevents the appearance of bad odour. It has the advantage of being bilateral can be used in both hands indistinctly. It is designed to get wet and is thermo-comfortable to adapt to the anatomy.
