Pharmaceutical Advice

The final result of a tattoo mainly depends on the care provided during the healing process.

During the first 24 hours (or the time indicated by your tattoo artist), it is advisable to keep it covered with a breathable bandage to prevent infection. Immediately afterwards, you should wash the area carefully with water and a suitable soap (very mild).

Once you have cleaned it, and for the following 15 days, it is essential to keep the tattoo properly moisturised. To do this, we recommend that you only use healing creams or balms specially designed for this purpose. After 15 days, you should continue to moisturise it daily, although you can do so with your usual cream.

Another aspect to bear in mind is that, during the first few weeks, you should avoid exposing the tattoo to the sun and to sea and pool water. Also, once the tattoo has healed, you will need to take care of it by using sunscreen when the skin is exposed to the sun, to prevent the design from losing its colour.

By following these tips, and avoiding scratching and picking at scabs, you will ensure that it heals properly.

If during this process you notice irritation or pain, fever or any other sign of a potential infection, see your doctor immediately.
