Some babies have alterations in the functioning of the intestine, which leads them to not be able to properly digest lactose, a sugar that must be divided into molecules of glucose and galactose, by means of an enzyme. There are cases of babies who do not have this over, and babies that due to acute diarrhoea, lost temporarily the enzyme.
