Nutmeg is the fruit of the tropical tree Myristica fragrans, native to the Moluccas Islands (Indonesia). This seed has an oval shape and is composed of a veined and hard tissue containing starch, fats and tannins. It has a very intense and penetrating aroma, so it should be used in small doses. It goes very well with sauces such as béchamel sauce, vegetable creams or milk-based desserts. Keep the container tightly closed in a cool, dry place, protected from light. Packaged with a grinder.
