Its multi-layered structure allows for efficient management of exudate, thus creating an optimal environment for a faster recovery.
This dressing features:
- Non-woven layer: has "T"-shaped incisions across its surface, providing greater flexibility.
- Puncture technology: in its silicone layer, facilitates the transmission of fluids to the absorbent core.
- Soft silicone layer: allows its use on delicate and sensitive skin, minimizing pain upon removal.
The use of these dressings is recommended for the treatment of:
- Non or weakly exudative wounds: such as pressure ulcers, leg and foot ulcers, surgical wounds, traumatic injuries, and skin tears.
The dressing can be applied by non-specialized individuals under the supervision of healthcare professionals. It is important to:
- Clean the wound according to clinical practices and properly dry the surrounding skin before application.
- Choose an appropriate size and shape of dressing, ensuring that the central pad covers the dry skin around the wound by at least 1 to 2 cm.
- After removing the first protective strip from the adhesive, apply the adhesive side over the wound and gently press the edges onto the skin without stretching the dressing.
The dressing change can be done after several days or sooner if signs of saturation, leakage are observed or according to clinical indications. It is also possible to use the dressing under a compression bandage.
