Ginseng is a plant of the Panax ginseng C.A.Mey species. It has antioxidant, metabolic, immunomodulatory and general toning properties and also supports the recovery process after physical and mental exercise.

It is considered to be an adaptogenic plant, i.e. it contains substances that increase the capacity to adapt to stress factors (periods of increased work or physical and mental demands, convalescence, etc.).

Among its benefits, it supports proper mental performance function, helping concentration and coordination. It also combats tiredness and fatigue, invigorates the body and also benefits normal sexual function. It supports the immune system and helps maintain normal glucose metabolism.

Before taking it as a dietary supplement, it is advisable to seek professional advice to rule out any contraindications and to adjust optimal supplementation time. As a supplement, it has no side effects, but it may interact with some medicines, such as oral anticoagulants, certain antidepressants or blood sugar medication. It is also not recommended in cases of high blood pressure, insomnia or a tendency to nervousness. It should be avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

In cosmetic products, red ginseng (Panax Ginseng Root Extract), also known as Korean ginseng, is the type of ginseng with the greatest benefits for the skin. Because of its antioxidant properties, it helps fight skin ageing by neutralising free radicals and also helps to improve skin radiance.
