**** The beneficial effect is obtained with the consumption of carbohydrates, from any source, in a total dose of 4 g per kg of body weight, in fractional doses starting within the first four hours after very intense and/or prolonged physical effort that causes muscle fatigue and a decrease in glycogen stores in skeletal muscles, and no later than 6 hours after such effort.
