Figs are widely known as a sweet and very nutritious food from the fig tree (Ficus carica). They have a high fibre and sugar content and are also a source of minerals and vitamins. They are used in cosmetic products for different functions.

On the one hand, fig extract and fig tree leaves provide an astringent effect, which can be useful in cosmetics to balance oily skin. The plant extract also contains flavonoids with antioxidant action, which help to protect the skin from premature ageing.

They are also widely used in perfumes and sensory cosmetics. Fig and fig flower extract provide fresh and enveloping aromatic notes. They are part of fragrances that take you to Mediterranean landscapes and can be found both in high-end perfume products and in a wide range of cosmetics for hygiene and body care. In hair cosmetics, it helps to strengthen the hair, improving local microcirculation in the scalp. It also conditions the hair shaft to make the hair look more supple and shiny.
