Properties and characteristics
The anti-inflammatory action of horse chestnut is due to the presence of flavonoids, escinas are responsible for the antiedematous effect and can also increase the tone of the veins. The antiedematous activity of escinas is quite long-lasting, with a persistence for several days, being its activity and therapeutic spectrum much higher than that of the routine flavonoid.
Rusco is considered one of the largest venotonics in modern phlebology due to the synergistic action of its main components, saponins and flavonoids. In this way the rusco increases the venous tonicity of the"heat-dependent" type, making the clinical courtship disappear and improving venous compliance; it can be used with very good results in hemorrhoidal processes.
Proanthocyanidins in grapes appear to have affinity with vascular tissue and inhibit various enzymes involved in the degradation of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, which are the main structural components of the extravascular matrix.
