Sweat is made of water, mineral salts and waste substances which, when in contact with the skin microbiota bacteria, are degraded, resulting in an unpleasant odour.

The feet are one of the areas that produce most sweat, due to the high concentration of sweat glands and skin folds, as well as the use of closed footwear that prevents proper ventilation. Foot deodorants help to limit sweating, neutralise odour and reduce bacterial proliferation. Powder and spray treatments are available and can be applied directly to the feet or in the shoes to ensure disinfection.
