Bactigras is a sterile gauze impregnated with paraffin and chlorhexidine acetate, individually packaged in peel-open pouches. It is a CE-marked single-use medical device indicated for different types of wounds at risk of infection or already infected. It can be used for:
- Burns
- Scalds
- Lacerations
- Abrasions
- Ulcers on the lower extremities
- Other skin lesions
The product acts as a barrier between the wound and the secondary dressing, allowing exudate to pass into the absorbent dressing. The chlorhexidine acetate gradually released by the gauze provides long-lasting action against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria.
It is important to:
- Not cover more than 10% of the total body area with Bactigras.
- Avoid use in case of sensitivity or allergy to chlorhexidine.
