Wash your hands before and after each use. Clean the infected lip area and make sure it is dry before applying. Do not apply creams or lotions. - Separate the patch from the blister. - Remove the first half of the white protective paper without touching the adhesive part. - Apply the first part of the patch over the cold sore, centering it on the area. Once the patch is applied to the affected cold sore area, carefully remove the second remaining part of the white protective paper. - Smooth the patch until it is firmly in place. Rub the patch with your fingers to warm it up and improve its initial adhesion to the skin. The product may discolor as exudates are absorbed. The dressing can remain in place for up to 5 days in the absence of infection. - To remove the patch, gently lift one side of the patch and peel it off slowly. - If there is any discharge around the patch, change it as needed.
