Ho wood essential oil has antifungal, antibacterial and anti-infective properties. It is used to purify the skin and to deal with minor infections of mature skin. Ho wood is from the same family as ravintsara. It is a tree about 30 m high also called Japanese laurel, shiu, Chinese ravintsara, Japanese camphor. There is no camphor in the essential oil of ho wood.
