Damiana is a nervous stimulant of the centers that act on the centers related to urination, erection and ejaculation, so it is a diuretic and aphrodisiac. It is a urinary antiseptic, expectorant, laxative, and astringent. It is also used in menstrual disorders as it stimulates ovarian functions.
It should be avoided in cases of pregnancy, lactation, insomnia and tachycardia.
